hi ray re, "I hate to spend the time the floppies take, and wonder if they really need frequent updating" i bet you have a fairly good idea already what i'm going to say.... <g3> ray, i update my rescue disks as frequently as i update the virus definitions. i believe it is a very important step to take in the overall pc security picture, and now that it has become a part of a routine, the time it takes never seems to be long. when i consider how these disks can save me if my pc becomes infected, or will not boot, i never begrudge the time it takes to update the disks. they've saved me once, and that was enough to put me on the right track. good luck :) mark
