That's exactly what they want you to think. They, along with their equally fundamentalist counterparts in the US and Israel want you to think this is WWIII. If the US and the Brits in particular removed all troops from the region except for peacekeepers and withdrew our support for autocratic regimes like the dictators of Saudi Arabia, why would anyone have a reason to terrorize us. There may be, out of 6.5 billion of us, an occasional angry or nutty or thuggish individual who commits such acts but there wouldn't be any concerted effort. Remove the motivation. Remove the reward. That's how we win. If the Bushies really thought this was WWIII, they wouldn't be demanding tax cuts and telling everyone to keep shopping. WWIII doesn't require the purchase of yachts and clothing, it requires the purchase of armaments. Have you seen the Bushies ask Americans to buy more armaments by sending more money to the US Treasury? Have you seen recommendations to plant victory gardens? Have you seen requests for serious reduction in energy consumption? Of course not. The Bushies know this isn't WWIII so they aren't even bothering to bring back the draft. They don't take their own rhetoric seriously so why should you?
