Jim let me try to explain what I think they are doing and why I'm long.
I believe they are trying to execute on a much larger scale the same
strategy they used with laptop power management. Whether the product
(call avoidance) works or not is irrelevant; more to the point is the
perception of the PC makers. This is a group that may have more herd
instinct than even technology stock buyers. I believe that if they can
sell three of the top ten manufacturers they rest will be compelled to
follow suit - i.e. a savings of 10-20% of technical support budgets is
too huge a competitive advantage to ignore. If they are able to execute
this strategy they can grow their business 10 fold over the next 24 months.
Whether the product works (ie power management was a very feeble product
in it's first generation- still is IMHO) and whether the public buys
into it is irrelevant.
