Just listening to an interview with Shays who is iffy in CT mostly because of his pro war stance. He was arguing with people who said it's just not a winner and, instea of saying, it IS a winner he just said, 'that's not the point.'

He didn't elaborate on what exactly is the point but if that's the flaccid response of Republicans in public, they must be saying really bad things about the war in private.

The air has gone out of this particular balloon but it still has 140,000 troops and, maybe (who knows?) 40,000 contractors in its midst.
