I would love to buy some of those "Intel B" shares. Unfortunatly, I don't know any companies that fit those dynamics. Any suggestions?

On your parable, what if each retrofit of Machine A produces not only more but also *better* donuts, so that the company that owns machine B eventually loses almost all of his business, and must sell his donuts at a lower price (and GM) than Machine B company (note Intel's 90%+ market share)? In that case, I would buy the "Pentium Donut Machine" every time.
