This isn't about neat code, it's about extending existing investments and not spending years trying to get distributed applications to work together using proprietary hacks. It's about open standards and proven technology. Microsoft has been focusing on creating a platform for its own applications, period. AFA talent, Microsoft attracts some of the least talented people in the industry and that shows in their applications and system software. Look, there is no sense arguing about it, check back this time next year and let's see where IBM, Sun, Intel and the other industry super-powers have taken this. Just watch, we aren't going to settle this here. I know I am right, you are guessing and time will bear me out on this.
