I think the budget should be balanced. There are only 2 ways to go about that, and each have two obvious options:

(1) Spend less by (a) doing less, or (b) doing it more efficiently
(2) Earn more by (a) higher taxes, or (b) investments and bring in revenue.

I am actually with the teachers on this and want them to have better pay and smaller classes. I just don't agree that it should come as a deficit.
