Baghdad: Al-Qaeda is preparing to launch Al-Quds-1 Katyusha rocket Monday, 23 April 2007 newswires.tacticalreport.com Reports from Baghdad suggest Al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia got around 200 ready-to-use Katyusha rockets. Al-Qaeda is believed to have got the rockets from old camps belonging to the former Iraqi Republican Guard in Al-Anbar province.
These reports add that Al-Qaeda sent a part of the rockets to southern Iraq.
According to these reports, the Defence Industry Organization of Al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia is now trying to make mobile launchers for these rockets.
Al-Qaeda intends to name the missile Al-Quds -1 and to use it against some sensitive targets in southern Iraq. |
