According to PTEC's 10K, "the maintenance of a minority ownership
position in Xionics will let Phoenix participate in that business's
future growth, while making new resources available for its remaining
businesses."

PTEC also stated that they carried a note at $0, "because of risk of
collection" and equity at $0 because the estimated fair market
value "is not significant".

The 10K I refer to is about a year old, so it is difficult to know from
that document alone about the current or future fundamentals
at Xionics. Perhaps the CFO at Phoenix will help you more or
perhaps you can contact Xionics.
