Why would Bell Canada announce an expanded ADSL trial using WSTL's equipment... ie. 2Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream, if they were going to select ALA. I would think they would want to use some of the ALA equipment... and I don't think ALA gear works at those baud rates. Also the close ties between Nortel and Bell Canada ... this one just doesn't add up for an Ala win.

Now BT is a different story... but an ALA win, doesn't mean that Westell doesn't win some of the contract. Its been known for some time that ALA and Fujitsu won the contract, and more than one vendor was going to be used.... until later.
