Dan, I most certainly respect your viewpoints and there is no animosity by me toward your interpretation as long as we both agree that we are saved by the blood of Christ.

Dan, the message of the cross was not preached by Peter or the desciples before Paul was raised up as the apostle to the Gentiles. Peter accuses because of Christ's crucifixion and tells his people to repent and be baptised for the wrongful death of our Savior.
Yes, I know that Peter was directed through a dream to go to the Gentile house but he is surprised that the Gentiles are saved by the Holy Spirit and then water baptises them after the fact.
Paul is our apostle, it is Paul's Gospel that is for us ever since Jesus revealed the Mystery of Grace to him on the road to Damascus.
