Thanks for that information, definitely food for thought. I always shop early, and have maybe a third of my shopping already done. Another consideration for early shopping this year is if you plan to mail anything. I had something mailed to me by USPS about three weeks ago, the expected delivery date was five days after mailing, but it arrived 15 days later. Other services like UPS will no doubt be maxed out. Fortunately, I don't have to mail packages very often. By the way, I know my first true breakthrough case now with COVID, a 30-ish woman who is fully vaccinated. Fortunately, her being vaccinated makes her 20-50x less likely to be hospitalized. The fact that these are happening likely portends problems with fall seasons for symphonies, opera, theaters, etc.
