Since WW II, the rich have started the wars and the lower classes have fought them. So? Isn't that common sense? One reason people try to get rich is so that they have the choice between playing golf and firing a weapon against an enemy. The key difference with the US is that (theoretically) it is easier to make the transformation from poor to rich if you work hard. But for those that haven't made the transformation yet, and are sitting there in the poor camp, of course they are going to get the short end of the stick when it comes to military service.
