I think it's time to give up flying...and traveling except maybe do donkey cart. Heard that the shoe bomber would have been successful if he'd just had a working Bic lighter.

This is what irritates me about security in general. It's obvious now that the US Intelligence Services had sufficient information to put 2 and 2 together and come up with: OBL is planning another attack on the US and is likely to use planes to do so and will do so in the near future.

99.9999999999999999% of people in the world are not, have not been and will not be terrorists or terrorist helpers. Our 'security' focuses on 100% of us while ignoring the field data that shows what the actual, self-avowed terrorists are doing. It's a huge waste of money!

Why don't they go after the ones who are the actual threats instead of taking nail clippers away from grannies? It's a big, fat boondoggle and it fritters away our resources.

There will always be a new idea (what set off the Russian airplane bombs if that's ideed what happened?) but the people involved are pretty much the same. It's so much easier to go after the people since they announce themselves on video and not on the net. They WANT publicity and that should be their undoing.
