Ericsson to Supply Equipment for the Provincial IP Network in Guangxi

STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 2002--Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY - news) today announced it
signed a contract with Guangxi Mobile Communications Company in China to provide the provincial IP backbone network
spanning 8 cities in Guangxi region.

This is Ericsson's first Packet Backbone Network contract with Guangxi Mobile. The large-scale IP backbone deployment
represents Ericsson's strength in delivering and implementing high-end IP routers to mobile communications operators.

Under the contract, Ericsson will deploy its industry leading AXI 580 and AXI 520 series IP Backbone Routers (based on
Juniper Networks M160(TM) and M20(TM) routers). The carrier-class AXI core routers will enable Guangxi Mobile's IP
network to provide high-speed data services and advanced Internet applications.

Ericsson will also supply extensive customer services, such as installation, system support, and hardware replacement services.
Installation of the equipment is planned for the end of April 2002.

Upon completion of the project, Guangxi Mobile's network will be equipped to provide voice, data and multi-media services,
and will enhance Guangxi Mobile capability to migrate their network to support the third-generation mobile communication.
