Billions of miles with FSD? That’s news to me.

As for accident free FSD mileage data supplied by Tesla … The element of human intervention seems to remain a mystery.

I managed today to get a first hand look / experience with FSD thanks to a (Tesla fanatic) neighbour who took me out for a drive. A mix of highway, city, side road (some snow covered / slippery). On the highway FSD did really well. Anything after that was in the white knuckle category. I lost count on how many times the driver had to take over. FSD can’t deal with slippery snow covered road conditions nor can it deal with white-outs.. The moment it gets “confused”, it just slams on the breaks and comes to a stop instead of just slowing down / pulling over. We were darned lucky not to get rear-ended. Only thanks to the driver who got the gismo going before someone plowed into us.

You think paying for the privilege of being a lab rat makes sense.

That’s your choice. My choice is to take this FSD experiment off public roads and call it what it is. A promising development nowhere close to public consumption.
