I was watching NBR and first heard that Silicon Graphics earned .54(?) cents this past quarter. That peaked my interested. Then I heard Abbey Cohen had it on her list of stock picks, and was keeping it on there. I did not hear of Abbey before tonight, but since she was doing well with her picks, and SGI was one, I became that much more interested in SGI.

I've been neglecting a lot of these larger companies, and have recently decided I wanted to put some money in one (I buy a lot of small-cap stocks). SGI looks like an intersesting canidate.

I haven't read the 10Q yet, but following is a short list of some of the things that interest me regarding SGI:

1) They are just "turned the corner"
2) They have a strong cash-flow (I have to look closer still)
3) Impressive earnings this quarter
4) Many upgrades are likely
5) Relatively low price

As I said, I'm just starting to look into SGI, but as many on this board have alread said, SGI does look exciting at this time.

Today, Friday, the stock closed at about $ 25.50

PS The major magazines are amusing when you know the full story on a stock. A TIME magazine writer once tried to argue that professional journalism is not biased or influenced by special interests. If the journalism is not biased or influenced by special interests, then maybe it is just incompetent :o)
