3/13/09 update
Finally, a week of uptick rule! Was it the switch to Daylight Savings Time or did the Bears get spooked by Friday the 13th? Whatever was responsible, the Nasdaq Composite Index, the Nasdaq Biotech Index and the Contest median all significantly cut their yearly losses. At Friday's close the NCI was down -8.91% CYTD, or "Contest Year To Date," (vs. down -17.67% CYTD a week ago), the NBI was down -6.30% CYTD (vs. down -13.86% CYTD a week ago) and the Contest median was down -10.19% CYTD (vs. down -19.48% CYTD a week ago).
Fueled by CVTX, SCARAM's portfolio rocketed into first place, with the portfolios of both GHMM and RKRW staking out the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. The CYTD percentages were: SCARAM up 8.60%, GHMM up 3.08% and RKRW up 2.19%.
At Friday's close, 3 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 10 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
Have a terrific weekend folks!
Below is the Top Ten list on 3/13/09:
