Ditech Communications Corp. and Advanced Digital Information Corp. were
among stocks the fell the most in extended trading.

Ditech, which designs and sells equipment for fiber-optic networks, dropped 3 3/4
to 53 after reporting fiscal first-quarter earnings of 39 cents a share, matching
estimates of analysts surveyed by First Call.

Advanced Digital sank 3 1/4, or 21 percent, to 11 1/8. The maker of automated
tape libraries and data-storage devices said it made 27 cents a share in its fiscal

Well, hopefully there is not much more negative, pricewise, that can happen to this company. I realy do not understand this : "Lingering Y2K effects". Investors do not want to hear lame excuses for things that happened 6 months ago.

Anyone listen to the CC? I started to listen (go to ADIC site IR page) but got cut off when had to take a phone call. When I got back (paused) I could not resume. The part I did hear was the Q&A. The management sounded very bullish. They think the stock has been misjudged as a "tape" stock rather than a tape system integrator. Over 50% of R&D spending has gone into software development.

This looks dark now. But the company has a lot going for it.
