Thread, I saw news on Indonesia on German TV today:

I watched today's German prime news at 8 p.m., the "Tagesschau" on ARD. Extraordinarily today, among cheery sport news from the German Olympic delegation, they had a report from Jakarta:

There apparently was a "big" demonstration there (500 people), protesting against unemployment, etc. The report went on to say that in the provinces, there were lootings going on, and that there were 25'000 police troops in Jakarta now, holding a tight grip on the city.

The report also said that unemployment was now 40 percent (that's forty)!?!?!? Can this be???

Anyway, dire conditions in Jakarta, now also making the prime time news in Germany...
