The slender, soft-spoken Somali refugee, 32, now a star Liberal candidate for parliament and certain to be a winner in this month's general election, lives behind a screen of well-concealed bodyguards.

A very brave woman.. And indicative of the cultural repression that militant Islam, and local tradition have imposed upon many muslim women..

I pray those bodyguards are sucessful at keeping her safe.

It's just a shame they are even necessary..

I find the topic particularly interesting since I opine that a lack of women's rights in the muslim world is one the primary reasons we see their young men trotting off to wage Jihad.

Try doing that in a western household without the Mrs. demanding that you complete those tasks she assigned you on her "honey-do" list..
