Emile,

<< Capitalism, like Marxism, is based on economic determinism.
The false and unrealistic goals of economic determism is to produce an economic unit that is completely independent from all cultural, social, and ethnic ties. Theoretically, this independence should enable the economic unit to function at maximum capacity.>>

Why is this a question of christianity vs. capitalism?

<<The goal of the true Christian is to produce a child that will group up interdependent upon the religious and cultural teachings that have shaped his social, spiritual and intellectual being.>>

In that scenario, a person can never achieve their full potential or develop their own sense of individuality. Individuality is a function of freedom of chhoice to express oneself in the most personally meaningful way possible. That freedom of choice is a gift from god. The teaching that you are totally dependent on any system is a tool usually reserved for control.

Also, in America, people are shaped and influenced by many different cultures and ideas. No one can possibly insulate themselves from ALL
things secular or foreign. Given your statement above, one would also be interdependent on all thought processes and teachings. I will concede however, that you probably meant the intentional teachings and influences that one desires to lean upon. Even so ones dependence from an intellectual aspect would be somewhat dependent on the influences of teachings outside christianity, since no one is capable of excluding all the secular influences they learn from in America.

<<The individual never looses his identity but finds it in a deeper corporate body.>>

<<We are all in Christ and Christ is in God. Everyone becoming more and more independently dependent. We crucified our persoanl lives voluntarily as we learn that by dying to self allows us to be resurrected into the fullness of Christ---or the Body of Christ. Each then begins to consider the other greater than himself. God has given us an independent free will to voluntarily join ourself to the corporate Body of Christ.>>

<<The ultimate life of a Christian is to independently choose a life that is totally and loving dependent upon God and other Christian.>>

All of the above statements, especially phrases like "independently dependent", are just phancy ways of saying that it is necessary to lose ones individuality and to give up control over your own decision making prowress. both of those atributes are god given attributes and are central to a persons personal makeup and the very essence of their soul.

JMHO,

Mark
