Compaq announced today that they would stop granting stock options to incoming employees, but would instead give them paper hats with the Compaq logo on them. "We want to re-emphasize the company's commitment to speedy customer service. Besides, at our share price, it's all just paper," said Yvonne R. Jackson, Vice President of Human Resources. * * * Compaq is re-examining the logistics at their new experimental "speedy drive-through" retail computer facility after several customers complained that, upon returning to their offices, they discovered their computer order had been incorrectly filled.
