Elephant Man,

You probably would need someone from outside plant to check the loop length. The request for outside plant measurements usually comes from a rep in the business office who takes a customer request for a service that is loop sensitive (like ISDN) does a database lookup, sees a potential problem, then phones in the request to the department that has measurement responsibilities (probably someone in outside plant engineering).

The odds of someone telling you (a residential customer)what your distance is from the CO are slim and none if you are not ordering a service, but just want to know for the future (ADSL deployment).

The other item you will need to know is if your home is served by a SLC-96 or series 5 system. If so, kiss ADSL delivery goodbye.

Good luck, let me know if you find out.

Mike
