Wyatt Joins SDL as Vice President of New Transmission Division

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- SDL, Inc. (Nasdaq: SDLI - news) announced that John C. Wyatt recently joined the company as the Vice President of its newly formed Transmission Division. In his role as Vice President of the Transmission Division, Wyatt will have responsibility for SDL's lithium niobate transmitter and receiver product lines and the recently acquired Veritech operation located in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Prior to joining SDL, Wyatt was the Senior Vice President of Sumitomo Electric. He has also held senior management positions at Harris Corporation, Ericsson, Transwitch Corporation, Siemens and BT&D (now Agilent). Wyatt will be located in the New Jersey facility and will report to Gregory P. Dougherty, Chief Operating Officer of SDL.

``John brings outstanding fiber optic communications experience and management skills to SDL,'' said Dougherty. ``He led both BT&D and Sumitomo to industry leading positions for transmitters and receivers and also built a solid organization. I am counting on John to bring more of his magic to SDL as we continue to build a strong transmitter and receiver program around our leading edge 10 Gb/s lithium niobate modulators and drivers.''
