>>>Iraq was not driven out of Kuwait by international "cooperation". The cooperators were mostly dragged kicking and screaming to the party, including many of our own legislators.
The fact is, Iraq was driven out of Kuwait by the USA.<<
Although the Gulf War was lead by the United States , on behalf of the request from Saudi Arabia, The following countries played varying degrees of involvement, showing how international co-operation can play an effective and resolute role in fighting crimes against humanity or aggression towards sovereign states.
The military coalition consisted of:
Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Honduras, Italy, Kuwait, Morocco, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Korea, Spain, Syria ,Turkey, The United Arab Emirates, The United Kingdom and the United States.
And although there is little doubt the most significant role was played by the US, there also little doubt that this was mainly due to America protecting its “ interests “ there. Each member of the coalition would likely agree that it was the US that who lead the charge , but I somehow think many would not approve of your insinuation that the US did it all by itself , even if it could have at the time, which is still being debated to this day.
>>If you care to study the document that is the basis for our 4th of July celebration, you will note it asserts that the just powers of government are derived from the consent of the governed<<<
That speaks well in theory , however History shows anything but when it comes to declaration of war and approval of congress. In fact , just about every war declared by the US has been WITHOUT approval of congress.

>>You may have pledged allegiance to the United Nations or the Brussels Bureaucrat's Club but I have not, nor have many others in this country. <<
I have pledged nothing to no person nor country nor entity , nor am I expected , obliged or obligated to do so.
>>We have no vote or voice in the affairs of these groups<<
You have the same voice as every person represented by the signing countries. As an American , you likely would have a much louder voice.
>>Further, given the fact our country is having enough trouble with judges who legislate from the bench, who, in their right mind, would give a handful of unelected people the power to dictate to the whole world<<
This IS one thing I would consider studying. The actual election of members to the committee ,as opposed to appointment by the various representatives of member countries. That may come later if there are problems.
>>>I not only favor the U.S. out of the U.N., I favor the U.N. out of the U.S. <<<
I’ve suggested on prior posts here that yours and others wishes be brought to a democratic vote as part of a platform by the party that wishes to present this as part of their electoral bid.
Please contact your representative of choice and make your wishes known.
