After I saw the American public turn down McGovern for Nixon, 49 states to 1, I was very depressed because it became crystal clear to me just how ignorant and insensitive most people are. And it is most people. McGovern would have been up there with Jefferson and Lincoln. He was such a great man. Two PHD degrees, WWII bomber pilot and a man Robert Kennedy called the most decent man in the senate. What adds insult to injury is that when Americans turns this country over to the plutocrats and humans destroy the planet they won't even realize they caused it.
