Doesn't matter what Kofi Annan believes, he does what the UN votes on.

Ilmarinen

btw, PartyTime, Ghana has a good, interesting history from the first to achieve independence (1967??)
in Africa, Nkruma, violence, coup,coup,-Rawlings,..coup-Rawlings-Dictator and now two
multi-party elections behind them and Rawling-opposition in government, Rawlings in
opposition, and doing a good job as a democratic oppostion, former president and dictator.

That is, a "model" of how well things can go when first achieving political but not economical
independence, giving some ultimatums to those with bankaccounts in Switzerland, and
especially that smart transition to a multiparty system. (was implemented, byt Rawlings
used som tricks to win the first election to avoid total chaos, and then lost the second when
the opposition had "cooled down")

But it took 30-some years, one generation and a some smart "leaders" along the way to
avoid the worst possibilities. (remember, Ghana has GOLD!!!!)
