I feel like you do. That article really disturbs me...Has she actually seen the bill? Is there a bill yet? Even a semifinal one? Neither the Dems or the Repubs can define "amnesty".... No one has said to round up 12-20 Million ILLEGALS....and IF they did say that, how on earth would *that* be done, and paid for?????
I do think that anyone who is here ILLEGALLY, needs to be identified. Somehow, THAT MUST BE DONE! They should pay a fine of consequence. OR they can go back home. If they are picked up again, send them to jail. If we don't have enough jails, build them. No frills either. No TV. Prison jobs, learn English, etc.
For Lopez to wonder if the Dems would be better...she'd better think about that LONG and HARD. Why does she think we are in the mess we are in? Was it because Clinton-Gore opened the floodgates for so many to come in to supposedly become citizens.....and so they could VOTE.

Bigots, my eye. Don't hire people who are not here Legally. Have enough people, and a high enough fine to stop that. We already have I-9 documents. When we only have a few hundred people in the ICE departments to go and get people here ILLEGALLY, then it is ALL of our faults! NOT just Bush, Clinton, and all the rest.
I think we have ALWAYS had migrants come here to pick fruits and veggies. They used to go in a circular migratory path, from the south to the north, according to the weather, and the ripening of crops. Then they went home.
Problem is, today, we have LOTS of Lawyers, and other special interest groups who WANT more ILLEGALS here. Not only to provide the lawyers jobs....but to provide government jobs in overseeing this mess.
This was a long time in coming before GWB. My own Grandparents had a "fruit ranch" and had a log cabin built for migrants.....that cabin had been there from the early 1940's.
Both political parties want Votes....and neither one wants to be seen as bigoted. But it is people like Soros, with LOTS of money, to spread even that "bigot" concept around. And people like Lopez should know better. She's been around the block a few times herself, and knows that money talks.
She can rant and rave all she wants. So can Novak, and Buchanan. Maybe she/they want the Dems to win. Not only the battle on immigration, but the overall Presidency and the House and Senate as well. If she doesn't, then she and the other Conservatives had better stop being so mouthy, and really, honestly get behind the people who are really trying to get a good package out.
If they don't, we all will be the losers. Dems too.
