Jeff, I am very interested in the networking sector through BAY and HLIT. I think technology is moving swiftly away from desktops computers, to broadband telecom pipes and gig ethernet. I was wondering if you held the basic sames view as me(I can only render basic views),that high powered servers from the likes of DGN,SGI,SQNT will dominate computers for the next couple of years, along with HFC,xDSL,etc.. The area of interest is not computing but telecom, have you looked at DGN lately? It came back from the dead also, was 10 a year ago,now it is 30,SQNT is also coming back. SQNT has gone from 15-27 in 2 months. The whole server market is hot,and so will in my opinion HFC and cable companies like Cox,UMG and Rogers. Everyone looks at TCI as cable, and they will be the one to fail. Hey another question, I have been noticing many brownouts of the internet,do you think Metcalf could be right and this year the internet could melt down? What would be the impact of xDSL and HFC on NAP's and the ability of the internet to handle high speed 2 -way data? Is a potential meltdown imminenent? Your postings are exceptional, and I was blown away by them! Hiram |
