Like Gregg mentioned, run the Windows 95 setup again, and let the program over-write the existing (newer) files. Although the Service Pack from Microsoft may help, some of your existing programs may no longer function correctly.

Since the information you have on your system is already backed up, you might as well bypass trying to troubleshoot your way around the problem and just do a clean re-install. Will probably take alot less time. Clear the drive, and start from scratch. Up to you.

P.S. The .VXD files are 32 bit protected mode drivers, and considering how many an which ones are being displayed, it would surprise me very much if your system and applications run like they should by over-writing with the older version. IMHO
