The GOP never nominates anyone but very-very white men. That is because part of their base are the racists in the country. The NRA for instance, was founded the day after the KKK was outlawed. Easy to figure that one out. Who do you think they're arming themselves against? Blacks and Mexicans. They do however like to promote a few token minorities to visible positions, even if they are totally unqualified, like Condi Rice who single-handedly allowed 9-11 to happen, though it's Bush's fault for appointing her in the first place. Also Alberto Gonzales who ought to be in prison.
