Sorry - I can't remember the source. I do recall
that this is an extension of the Microsoft effort
to define something they call the SIPC - Simple
Interactive PC. I don't know the degree to which
they can dictate architectural choices for hardware
manufacturers. I suspect that they can be very
influential, particularly when they move in concert
with INTC. Now that I think about it, I think the
source was the "tech" option from Reuters News Service.
They post news about technology issues once a day and
that was probably where I read it. I'll confirm to
you later if that was the source.
