**SpectruCell prototype completion news**

Company Press Release
Advanced Communications Technologies, Inc. - Prototype Multiple Protocol Wireless Base Station - August/September 2000 Release Date
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 2000

The Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Communications Technologies Inc. (OTC BB - ``ADVC'') Roger May announced today that the prototype model of the ``SpectruCell'' integrated multiple protocol wireless networking technology would be completed and ready for industry testing in late August, early September 2000.

Advanced Communications Technologies objective is in the completion stages of the development of a ``state of the art'' multiple protocol operating system for mobile wireless network products, that is well placed to become the primary communications network operating system for all wireless communications technologies in the 21st Century.

SpectruCell is a revolutionary and exciting new concept in mobile communications networks that has been developed in Australia over the last three years. The SpectruCell unit has been designed to support the next generation of mobile communications base stations or cells. Unlike existing networks, it has been designed with an entirely new wireless network architecture, capable, within one network, of processing and transmitting a variety of communications protocols (such as AMPS, CDMA, TDMA, GSM, W-CDMA, UMTS, Mobile IP, Voice IP, 3G). The major difference between SpectruCell and existing products is in the flexibility offered to the network providers by way of its open architecture and software upgradeable design. Simon Cleary, Vice President Research and Development for Advanced Communications Technologies, confirmed that the prototype development is on schedule for completion in late August early September. The ACT development team has already successfully demonstrated GSM functionality running on real-time operational SpectruCell hardware.

``The team is optimizing implemented code to meet the operating requirements of SpectruCell for GSM.'' he said. ``Our CDMA development team is currently modeling IS-95 algorithms for implementation in SpectruCell hardware and protocol support for GSM base stations to achieve network integration that has already been modeled by the software team.''

``Implementation of protocol stacks for E1/T1 interfaces suitable for the SpectruCell prototype are currently being optimized and IS-95 object models for the prototype have also been developed,'' he added. '

The development schedule is on track for initial prototype with GSM functionality due in mid August 2000 and CDMA functionality expected in early September.

Other developments initiated by the development team within ACT are:

Spectrally Efficient Microwave Units

Using intelligent modulation techniques and link monitoring software to achieve a spectrally efficient high speed microwave link with minimum installation costs. Current state of the art modems offer spectral efficiencies of up to 8bps/Hz, the ACT SEM will achieve a minimum of 25% improvement on this figure with an efficiency of 10bps/Hz.

Smart Antennas for cellular communication systems

Smart antennas in cellular networks improve delivery both to and from the mobile unit. They improve the call quality by 7db, cell capacity by 400% and cell size by 100%. This development is not only looking at the use of smart antenna DSP technology but also at the software agents to effectively manage and deploy smart antennas within mobile network infrastructure. Advanced Communications Technologies is an Associated Member of the Telecommunications Industry Association (http://www.tiaonline.org) and a member of the SDR forum (http://www.sdrforum.org).
