NAFTA was a trade negotiation that Clinton inherited when Bush 41 couldn't push it through during his watch.

Disappointingly, Clinton went along with what he surely must have known even then to be a raw deal for average Americans. After all, he knew exactly who wrote the Agreement and why. But he and Al Gore simply lied to the public about the purported benefits.
