Christine I agree with you the market has a lot more drop. The mutuals have had a pyramid club going for a good while and not all can win. Values have inflated to unheard of PE Ratios and the markets will return to value when this mutual kick dies its death.

There are truly some steals out there today in this inflated market. Small Cap plays are where it is right now. This is not Jesus said, or any God inspired pick, but I would be willing to bet my future on a company like Key Energy. They are 90% in oil servicing and 10% drilling. When drilling dropped off their price followed the drillers.
In the last two years they have acquired a mass of good companies going thru hard times and their earnings even in this declining market are terrific. Look at SEC records for last two years, Zack's, Industry ranks, WSRN reports, and any other way to rate the company & management.

I can't predict the short term market here but an outlook for next 5 years should make it one of Peter Lynch's 4 baggers. Beware of any banks or financials. I would dump them regardless of any value conceived.

I personally like IDC in the communications field for an immediate buy or long term. It's less than 4 bucks now and Heartland Value fund has over 6 million shares and adding more as it drops. They have the patents on the new broadband wireless which is just entering the field of data-voice-tv all on one line. These two are my picks and I have researched them thoroughly. The percentage gain will be unbelievable with just a $5 or less gain.
