Christine, I remember now. I was supposed to find something that Hawking said about his belief that the universe had to have been constructed by a higher intelligence who possessed the power to do so, and that in the absence of any evidence of that being in the universe the Christian God is as a good an explanation for the universe as anything else. So then, if one of the most renowned mathematicians in the world has said that the universe is too well ordered to have happened by chance, is that true? If it is, then who is and where is the responsible party?
I've been very busy myself and my posting had dropped off a lot too. My only posts lately have been to bash a company I lost money in. <gg> That's setting a poor example, isn't it. And I don't think you're witchy. I think you want to know the truth about things and will accept no substitute. Determining what truth is is very difficult. Is truth relative or absolute. In mathematics as in our universe it is absolute so I also think it is absolute. There is one truth, not many truths.
I believe I have met Jesus Christ and have been born again. He is the absolute truth. But God gave everyone free will. If God did not hide Himself everyone would see Him and pay Him homage. There would be no free will because no one would be able to freely choose to deny His existence. They would have to serve Him out of fear whether they wanted to or not. Hawking's complaint that he cannot find the builder of this universe is the result of the wishes of the builder. So that everyone can freely choose. So for those that earnestly seek the truth, more effort is required to find the builder. He has said in His word that those that seek Him will find Him. Those that choose to seek Him can, and those that choose to ignore Him can also.
Got to go now. We are going to Dollywood today. My daughter, she's seven, loves the rides.
I wish you the best,
