ASTN will see it's highs later this year with the IPO of Gomez.com.
For those who need a review one more time on what may be the biggest gainer of 1999, here is a brief breakdown of ASTN's holdings.
UTS - Universal Trading System - a Trading System platform owned by UTTC, an ATG subsidiary which utilizes the ATED state-of-the-art encryption system for security.
VTS - VWAP-Trading System, the first module of UTS, recently approved for implementation by the SEC on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX). Commences operational status by July 1 per ATG's CEO. That is not a "delay", by the way, that is a prudent start date which takes into account operational Beta testing and signing up of 50-100 institutions and broker dealers to participate and provide liquidity to the system.
Gomez - Gomez Advisors, the pre-eminant internet rating firm, which is a "Forrester Research" like company that is branching out into all manner of internet activity, services, consulting, with a particular focus in the financial services industry. It is a development stage internet think tank and internet mini-portal that will make money from professional fees, advertising revenue, and a number of other means. It is in the middle of a two year plan to grow to 50 employees and $5-10 Million in annual revenue, to be spun off in part through an IPO, and was not even part of ATG's original business paln identified in the ATG Prospectus in 1996. Located in Boston's silicon valley (Rt 128 in Concord) and filled with youthful and creative engineers, business types and computer scientists.
eMC - Electronic Market Center, an on-line brokerage facility to give internet trading capability to small to medium size brokers and institutions who lack the resources to provide for themselves.
NextExchange - ATG's newest subsidiary, formed to be a "for profit " stock exchange pursuant to Reg ATS, the new SEC regs governing alternative trading systems. |
