Steve,

It's Win95 4.00.950 B, Win98 Second Edition 4.10.2222 A. IE 5.5 on Win95 and IE 5.0 on Win98.

Perhaps running two different versions of IE is causing the problem. I don't think so though, because I can't even browse the Win98 Favorites folder over the network. It seems to be the only folder I can not see the contents of from the other machine. I'm thinking there is some setting, maybe in Windows Explorer or maybe in Internet Explorer that is not allowing access to the Favorites folder. If so, I can't find it.

OTH, it could be that IE 5.0 writes the favorites folder in such a manner

I was thinking maybe you knew of a setting that could lock the folder to access from the network. There's no need for you to install Win95, at least not yet. I should upgrade to IE 5.5 on Win98 before you go to the trouble. That might just solve the problem. I probably won't be getting to that today though. But I'll post back with the results as soon as I do.

Thanks.

Esteban
