And a lot of it will simply be what Republican primary voters want. Right now, they want to pick ideologically pure losers. Nothing much will change until that changes.

Expecting them to tackle the ideological review required to come up with positions to address a broader demographic seems like a pipe dream, knowing that they probably can't drag the party base away from its most basic dysfunction.
