Omnitracs has always had stiff competition. First from Highwaymaster which went bankrupt then from Amercan Mobile Satelite which got off to a poor start due to satellite failure and gateway problems from which they never recovered. Omnitracs is the only profitable company in that business because of its unique business model. Omnitracs leases satellite transponder time which it resells to truckers. There are lots of companies that sell the hardware but depend on VAR's for integration and support. That model has not worked at all. My guess is Orbcomm will not be able to compete effectively against Omnitracs
