We would NOT be having this kind of action in a genuinely free market IMHO. The fact that bonds USUALLY rally whenever the buck hits the skids shows that foreign CBs are making monumental efforts to support the buck whenever it threatens to break badly.

But the longer bonds are held at artifically inflated prices, the worse the ultimate day of reckoning will be. The timing is ,of course, uncertain -- but I see double digit yields on the long bond within the next few years.
