I am a Defense News subscriber and I can verify that LTG Kern is indeed quoted as saying a retinal display system will be flown in the RAH66. This is super news for MVIS as the RAH66 is the Army's top procurement priority. The Army would not be shifting from Kaiser to Microvision on its top project without a high level of satisfaction with VRD and great confidence that MVIS can deliver a superior helmet mounted display. LTG Kern is the director of the Army's Acquisition Corps which develops all Army materiel. He is also in charge of officers developing the Land, Air and Mounted Warrior systems to include ongoing procurement of the Force XXI Brigade and Below Battle Command system. That effort envisions digitizing the first Army division beginning in Sept 99. His interest in VRD for the RAH 66 could conceivably extend to its use in Land and Mounted Warrior systems.

Cheers
