I think PR is an understatement. Java has successfully created an alternative API platform to Win32. One might say that Linux is doing the same, but there are more Java developers today than there are Windows developers, let alone Linux developers.

If the developer's best API alternative on the server was the Win32/ActiveX/Com M$FT route, that would constitute a gigantic vault into that space for W2K. The widespread adoption of Java is an absolutely crippling blow to Microsoft's main tactic for dominance on the server, and therefore to their overall strategy.

You can't put a dollar value on that. Java has played a huge role in SUNW's success, and has only just started.

Apart from that, Cheryl, will you do my homework?
