Um... US Mutual Funds have a 10/31/04 annual/fiscal year. If anyone is 'painting the tape' it is the funds desiring to have their portfolio reflect as much gain as possible during their calendar year. This just happens to coincide with US elections every 2 years. Expect 2 more up days.
