They run this stuff on IIS and someone in that software house knows enough about hardware to keep things chugging. If MSFT can do it, they can teach others to do it - and they don't even deal in enterprise hardware.

Again, they run a system that NOBODY could rationalize as an expense in real life, Reg. I'm not making this up. We got it direct from the microsoft.com site. They lifted their skirt up and showed a monsterous cluster which redundant redundancy and apparently entirely running in RAM with a bazillion engineers scampering about.

This is why you can't come up with a non M$ affiliated web site of notable size running a IIs solution. Go to Netcraft and look at the IIs growth curve.

Better yet, look at Hotmail. Why do you suppose M$ runs Apache on Unix?
