Isoman, The reason QuoteTracker needs IE to be installed on the computer is that QuoteTracker uses some IE components to communicate over the net and to display some of the information (3 pane news screen for example). IE components where the only ones that we could find that allowed us to connect to secure sites. The fact that it was free was secondary. We looked everywhere, but could not find anything that we could use for SSL communication other than WININET.DLL (IE component). Only recently did we find something that "May" work. We are investigating it and if we can convert to the independent communication component, we will do so.
