Angel Gold (ANG-V) Aug 3rd 2016 is pleased to announce that a rock chip sample from small boulders of silver mineralized breccia assayed 1,050 g/t Ag & 0.25 g/t Au. An outcrop of intensely-sericitised porphyritic granodiorite cut by multiple generations of veinlets was also discovered 30m from the boulders during reconnaissance of its Nus-Corales soil anomaly.

Originally detected in Angel’s concession-wide stream sediment sampling the Nus-Corales coincident gold-silver anomaly was defined from ridge and spur soil sampling, and shown to extend over some 1,400m east-west by 800m north-south, and still open to the south. Within this anomaly three anomalous areas shown in figure 1 were defined, the southwestern-most of which overlies the Iguanacito prospect, which has the same trend as the overlying soil anomaly.

See figure 1 at: http://www.angelgoldcorp.com/index.php/geology/nus-corales-soil-anomaly-corales-soil-anomaly

“The discovery of the breccia boulders and the outcrop of multiply veined porphyritic intrusive, though only at an early stage of work, are non-the-less highly encouraging, both for the potential discovery of additional mineralized zones to the near east of the Iguanasito prospect, as well as for he possible existence of mineralised intrusives below and adjacent to the Iguanacito Prospect” said Angel’s president, Stella Frias.

Intensely sericitised rocks

Five samples of intensely sericite bleached and silicified volcanics/sediments were collected from between 250 and 300m west-northwest of the silver-rich breccia boulders. Gold and silver values were low with a best result of 0.13g/t Au and 5.04 g/t Ag. All samples contain minor white quartz veinletting, the sample with the best result also containing a dark grey pyrite-quartz veinlet. This is encouraging as the host alteration to the high-grade sulphide bearing breccia mineralization at Iguanacito is generally barren to only weakly mineralized.

Fractured volcanics

Seven samples, all but one of them from within a radius of 80m from the veinletted and sericitised porphyritic intrusive described above, were collected of essentially unaltered volcanics that exhibited networks of fine ferruginous fracture fillings. All reported effectively barren assay results. Fractures were identified as variably containing pyrite, chlorite, and probable carbonate fills, indicative of propylitic alteration, possibly as a halo to the intense sericite alteration.

Sheared and broken black sediments

A total of 4 samples were collected from two separate sheared and broken zones within black sediments containing minor amounts of pyrite and quartz veinletting, all yielding effectively barren results.

Additional Potential for Bulk-Tonnage Intrusive Hosted Mineralization

A small outcrop of intensely sericitised porphyritic granodiorite intrusive was observed cut by three different types of quartz veinlets (clear, white, and minor black) to 4cm in width. These quartz veins are in turn cut by and locally walled by sheeted millimetric goethite (iron oxide) fractures after pyrite. This outcrop was located 30m north of the silver-rich breccia boulders. This outcrop is highly significant in being an altered intrusive which has undergone multiple phases of veining, stockwork veining and supports the hypothesis of younger intrusive bodies underlying and causing the zones of alteration and mineralization and as such offers potential for bulk-tonnage intrusive hosted mineralized targets at shallow depth. Multiple intrusive bodies have been discovered by Angel geologists clustered in an area of 2km x 2km, commencing 750m to the east, including a body of feldspar porphyry. These findings indicate a high probability of other intrusive bodies focused along faults and geologic contacts.

See table of all 2016 rock chip results at the end of the press release.

Analysis / Quality Control and Quality Assurance

Samples were submitted to ALS Medellin for preparation and assayed by ALS Peru. Gold was determined using Fire Assay AA finish (method Au-AA23), with gold samples >10 g/t being reassayed by Fire Assay Gravimetric Finish (method Au_GRA21). Silver was determined by 51 element ICP-MS (method ME-MS41) with silver greater than 100g/t samples being redetermined by atomic absorption (method Ag-OG46). Angel submitted blanks, duplicates and standards with the sample batches as part of its QAQC program.
