<<Gov't to Make Correction to Jobs Data
Monday December 9, 10:22 am ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government on Monday will revise its key monthly payroll report to correct a problem with some data that affected the September payrolls number, the Labor Department said.
Labor released its November employment report on Friday, showing that payrolls fell by 40,000 last month after a 6,000 gain in October. The report had said that September payrolls fell by 4,000.

John Castle, economist with Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, said the most recent report would be replaced by another report to fix the problem.

He said the actual level of September payrolls would be amended but not November's level. It was unclear how the changes would affect the month-on-month changes, which take the focus in financial markets.>>

Lies, damn lies and statistics. I can just imagine the conversation on Friday with the WH political guys and the BLS green eye-shade folks: "Fix those f*cking stats or you will be emptying O'Neil's piss bowl at the old folks home!!" Or something to that effect...
