yes, connectix is privately owned. rumour is that Apple tried to buy them out about two years ago (to get RamDoubler) but it did not go. Apple/connectix have quite strong ties (ie Mode32). I do not recall if Apple has an equity position in connectix. for more info on the emulation trick-that is emulating a pentium chip rather than windows software-see emulation.net (the inside joke on that site explained: big endian is encoding the most significant bit first, little endian is putting the least significant bit first: endian little hate we) ps. Rhapsody will be "hands on" at WWDC: devworld.apple.com this is held May 13-16 in San Jose
